SERVICES

I am an experienced Children's Physiotherapist providing accessible, effective assessment and treatment to babies, children and young people up to 18 years old in their own home.

I aim to use expert physiotherapy knowledge and exercise intervention to assist a child in reaching their full potential, whilst educating parents and families to continue this in their daily routine. I work with children and families to discuss their goals for the sessions and liaise with NHS therapists as required to ensure a team approach. I can provide advice around specialist equipment as appropriate.

My approach is friendly and reassuring, and all intervention is adapted to be fun for the children and families!

Some of the conditions I am experienced with are:

  • Global developmental delay

  • Cerebral palsy GMFCS level 1-5

  • Spina bifida

  • Neuromuscular conditions including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) & Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)

  • Downs syndrome

  • Acquired brain injuries

If your child has a condition not listed here please feel free to contact me as I may still be able to help. Treatment will be based around the child’s abilities and limitations, so can be easily adapted to a variety of conditions.

TESTIMONIALS

HAYLEY (Parent)

“Laura provides physiotherapy for my four year old son Harry who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Laura provides the right mix of professionalism and expertise but is also extremely good with Harry and makes him smile lots. Laura has the ability to know exactly what would benefit Harry in terms of his tone, mood and ability that day and I would highly recommend Laura to provide effective physio. A pleasure to entrust with my child.”

LISA & ALEX (Parents)

"We would strongly recommend working with Laura. Our 3 year old son Avery has the degenerative genetic condition SMA Type 2. The progress Avery has made in the first 3 months of her working with him is incredible. She has a lovely manner, lots of enthusiasm and great empathy, our son bonded with her straight away.

Laura is highly skilled at delivering seamless transitions between activities and has a real talent for making physio always seem like playtime! Her advice on equipment and orthotics has also been invaluable."

CHARLEY (Colleague)

"I have worked with Laura for several years, and she is the epitome of a professional, friendly and down to earth physio. Holistic care is always at the front of Laura’s treatment, always taking on board what you, your family and your child need as a whole. She has always had the fantastic ability to encourage children by adding fun to treatments to get the desired results but also being able to explain and discuss with families the important information that may lay behind the ‘fun’ that your child is having whilst working harder than they realise!"

MATT & KATIE (Parents)

Laura is professional, supportive, enthusiastic and very friendly. She is quick to respond to emails/messages. She has a wealth of knowledge and ideas for physio exercises. We would highly recommend her services.
